Lebanon and Syria to demarcate their border

At a news conference, August 14, the governments of Syria and Lebanon confirmed that they would be proceeding with the demarcation of their shared border as part of a broader effort to improve relations between the two countries. However, the demarcation will not include the Shebaa farms, adjacent to the Golan Heights and currently occupied by the Israelis, and arguably representing one of the most problematic contested territories in the world.
